The electric guitar adds both emotion and power to a composition and remains
the backbone of my music.
While I wouldn't classify the music as heavy, per se, I now and again relish the feeling
of a hundred watts of stereo thunder. Here you'll not only feel that thunder,
but also experience the Scottish highlands while listening to my Celtic flavored
acoustic compositions.
My influences will betray themselves as one by one, you sample the sounds below.
Enjoy...
Living on the Fly
Living on the Fly is another rockin' instrumental that gets its name from a phrase my wife uses
to describe our lifestyle - always too busy! This song is just a rough mix of what was recorded
at Cider Mountain Recorders and is not complete. Keys and guitars were recorded at my home studio,
Mythical Places Studios.
Eric Brown: Drums, Dave Turner: Bass, Kelly Porter: Keys
One Breath from Eternity
One Breath is a long, melodic instrumental that came together from several seemingly
unrelated musical ideas. We are all just one breath from the next world.
Kevin Dodson: Drums.
Terminal Velocity
Terminal Velocity is a rocking guitar instrumental. After years of being in keyboard-dominated
"progressive rock" bands, I had to shed the keyboards and unleash the
electric guitar. Turn it up! Doug Smith: Bass, John Greenfield: V-Pro Drums.
Second Wind
Second Wind is a melodic excursion between the worlds of blues and jazz with a touch of new age.
Special thanks to Shawn Kingsley for her excellent piano work on this demo.
Were it not for Shawn's piano, this song would not be what it is.
Shawn Kingsley: Piano, John Greenfield: Drums
Highland Jig
This little ditty will teleport you to the Scottish countryside. I was searching
for something that would add a few phrases to my acoustic vocabulary when
I discovered the world of alternate tunings and this song flew off the fretboard.
Can't you just hear the bagpipes?
The Way of the Rose
A light nylon string guitar piece that revealed itself to me in a moment of quiet
inspiration when I had the house all to myself. The name of the song just popped into my head out of nowhere.
